Medical Emergencies
Time is of utmost importance in the case of a medical emergency. We recommend that you keep a first aid kit unlocked and fully stocked in your suite. It is the Tenant's responsibility to also make sure that your employees are aware of its location.
In the event of SERIOUS ILLNESS or INJURY, the individual who discovers an injured person should:
- If the emergency is life threatening, CALL 911 first, then you or have another person call 911 for further assistance.
- Inform the dispatcher you are calling from Legacy Central and you have a medical emergency. Tell the dispatcher:

- The patient's suspected injury or illness;
- Is the individual conscious and breathing?
- Unless individuals have been properly trained, they should be directed not to attempt to move or assist the injured person unless the person in need of assistance is in danger of further, more severe injury. Try to make them as comfortable as possible.
- Reassure the accident victim or ill person that emergency assistance is on the way.
- Contact Security at 972.361.1120 stating “there is a medical emergency building ___ on floor__, suite___. The officer will call 911 if that has not already been done and also dispatch the nearest roving officer to respond for assistance.
- Upon completion of the emergency situation, the officer(s) will complete the medical incident report form and/or tenant injury log if appropriate. Copies of the forms will be submitted to the Property Management office for review and filing for compliance.
